What does an STNA do?
The job of an STNA can be quite demanding. STNA's are highly respected within the medical commuity for their service. Often described as the "eyes & ears" of the nurse, the STNA is expected to be more than just an 'onlooker'. He/she will be called upon to help monitor patients, playing an integral role in their care.
Nursing Assistants, in the State of Ohio, must meet certain standards of training before being licensed. Their training requires a minimum of 75 hours of study, including 16 hours of training in a supervised 'clinical' enviroment.
With an aging population and more emphasis on the quality of life for older members of society STNA's will always be in high demand in the healthcare field. Many practical & registered nurses began their careers as STNA's, for the simple reason; it is a short course with excellent prospects for immediate employment!
What will I learn in my STNA Course?
Our STNA Course will teach you to address the patient as a 'whole' while promoting their independence and self care.
Basic nursing skills will be taught including:
All of this and much more will be communicated during your very busy two week program. It is a lot of material to absorb. You'll need to study but the rewards of a job paying far above minimum wage with the personal satisfaction this one has to offer, will make it well worth the effort.
